Leadership Presentation Agreement

XXXXXXXXXXXXXX contracts with Patrick Lee for a presentation as XXXXXXXXXXXX in XXXXXXXXXXXX, on XXXXXXXXXXXX. The terms are:

1. The speaking fee will be XXXXX plus expenses.
2. A deposit of 50% of the speaking fee with the return of this signed agreement guarantees the date.
3. The balance of the fee plus expenses
will be paid at the event, after the presentation.
4. Expenses include:
a. Ground transportation, as needed, on both ends and airport parking
b. Round trip coach airfare from Columbia, MO (If flying from Columbia is not feasible, roundtrip mileage to St. Louis, 240 miles, or Kansas City, 280 miles, @ 50 cents/mile will be added.)
c. Accommodations in the host hotel, to be billed directly to the client
d. Speaker pays for meals, incidentals, etc.
5. In the event of cancellation:

a. By the sponsor: The sponsor may, within 30 days, reschedule and apply the deposit toward an appearance on any non-conflicting date within the next twelve months. Otherwise, the deposit is forfeited.
b. By the speaker: The deposit will be refunded within seven days.
c. By uncontrollable events: Issues regarding rescheduling or return of the deposit to be negotiated.
6. Miscellaneous
a. Speaker will provide an introduction to be delivered as written.
b. Speaker will provide a master copy of a handout to be duplicated and distributed to each attendee. The handout will includes biographical and contact information, and ordering information regarding Mr. Jefferson’s Decalogue and the speaker’s book.
c. Speaker will not be in evidence before his remarks but will stay afterward to answer questions.
d. Speaker will deliver his remarks standing out in the open. A separate riser for a speaking platform (not the head table) is recommended.
e. If a meal is served, speaker will not begin until all have finished eating and the wait staff is finished.
f. Speaker is an independent contractor and responsible for taxes due on his speaking fee.
g. Speaker is willing, schedule permitting, to meet in costume and character, with the sponsor’s board or special guests after his presentation. h. Speaker may invite selected non-members to hear his presentation. Invitees may not eat, socialize, or attend other sessions without the payment of appropriate fees.
i. Sponsor will provide a cordless lavaliere microphone and have an attendant on site to monitor the sound quality and make necessary adjustments.
j. The presentation may be video or audio taped with the speaker’s prior written approval.
k. Jefferson and Clark bring a commemorative item offered for sale after the presentation. Sponsor will provide a display table near the exit of the meeting room and a volunteer to help staff that table.
7. Special Terms

a. Speaker offers a second program of inspirational humor, as himself, The Hopeful Humorist™. It must be after the character portrayal, on the same or following day. There is no additional  charge for this presentation.
